Louis Accola was born in St. Louis, Missouri on September 3, 1850. He lived in the Gallatin Valley for seventy-six years of his life. In the spring of 1866 the Accola family left Muscitine where where they once lived, the same year the Accola family became members of a train, including three hundred wagons and one thousand people. They arrived in the Gallatin Valley in the fall. Also in the early seventies Louis Accola and his brother, August, homesteaded on land in the Pass Creek country, twenty-five miles north of Bozeman where the home ranch still was located. Then he got married on December 28, 1886 to Frannie Jane Miller and had three kids. Also sadly he died when he was ninety-two years old in Bozeman , Montana on December 29, 1942.
